AgPilotEDUPrivacy Policy
Effective October 24, 2026
The short version. Your study progress lives on your own device, and syncs to your account if you make one. We measure how the course is used so we can fix what pilots get wrong and show sponsors honest, aggregate numbers. We do not sell personal data, do not use ad networks or advertising identifiers, and do not track you across other apps or websites. Everything that leaves your device is listed below, with what it is for, and you can delete your account and its data yourself.
Who we are
AgPilotEDU (agpilotedu.com) is an independent training course for agricultural pilots. This policy covers the website, the installable web app, and the AgPilotEDU apps distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store.
What stays on your device
The following is stored in your browser or app storage. Without an account it never leaves your device; with an account, progress and practice results are also saved to your account so they follow you between devices:
- Lesson completion and track progress
- Every practice question you answer, whether you got it right, and your confidence rating
- Review intervals, streaks, XP, and milestone history
- Your profile settings: aircraft you fly, role, dates you are training toward, reminder hour, season setting
- Calculator inputs, logbook entries, and label lookups
Clearing site data or uninstalling the app erases this. An export button in the Living Syllabus lets you download a copy.
What leaves your device, and why
- Usage measurement (always on). As you use the site we record events such as which lesson, door or tool was opened, practice answers (right or wrong, how sure you were, how long you took), the referral source that brought you here, your country and state as reported by the network, your device type, and the browser's name for the device. With an account these are tied to your account; without one, to a random device ID. We use this to see where pilots struggle, what to fix, and to report audience and knowledge-gap numbers to sponsors and the industry in aggregate only — never your name, never your individual answers. Events are deleted after two years.
- Sponsor messages. Some pages may show a message from a sponsor. We count that it was shown and whether it was clicked. Sponsors never receive your identity, and no third-party ad network or tracking script runs on the site.
- Profile. If you tell the site what you fly, your role, and your season, that profile is saved to your account so the course can tailor itself and so we can describe our audience in aggregate (for example, "40% fly turbine fixed-wing").
- Push reminders (optional). If you turn on reminders, your device gives us an anonymous push address, your time zone, your chosen hour, and two numbers: how many items are due and your current streak. That is all the reminder text needs. Turning reminders off deletes this. Reminders stop automatically after seven go unanswered.
- Peer benchmark (optional, off by default). If you switch it on, the app sends four numbers under a random ID — proficiency tier, durable-item count, accuracy, and streak — so you can compare against other pilots. No questions, answers, name, or email are included.
- Spoken questions. When a practice question is read aloud, the question text is sent to our server and on to a text-to-speech provider (ElevenLabs) to generate the audio. Only the question text is sent; nothing identifies you.
- Photo reading (optional). If you use the tool that reads a product label or a Hobbs meter from a photo, that photo is sent to our server and on to an AI vision provider (OpenAI) to extract the text. Photos are not stored by AgPilotEDU.
- Instructor link (optional). If you make an instructor link, anyone who has that link can see your name, what you have read, your quiz and practice results by course, and the practice questions you have missed. Nothing else in your account is shown. You can turn the link off at any time, and it stops working after 180 days.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and what you bought so we can grant access; we never see card numbers.
- Sign-in email. If you sign in, a one-time link is sent to your email address through our email provider (Resend).
- Ordinary web traffic. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse, as any web host does.
What we do not do
- No ad networks, advertising identifiers, or tracking pixels (sponsor messages are served by us, not by an ad network)
- No sale or rental of personal data
- No analytics that follow you across other apps or sites
- No access to contacts, location, camera, or microphone, except when you choose a photo for the photo-reading tool
Children
AgPilotEDU is professional training for licensed or student pilots and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
- Reminders and the peer benchmark are opt-in and can be turned off in the Living Syllabus at any time.
- You can export or erase all study data from the Living Syllabus.
- You can delete your account and everything tied to it — progress, practice results, usage events, profile, friends, instructor links — yourself, from the "Your data" section of the account page. Purchase records at Stripe are kept as required for accounting.

Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above will change and the app will say so.
