Who we are
AgPilotEDU (agpilotedu.com) is an independent training course for agricultural pilots. This policy covers the website, the installable web app, and the AgPilotEDU apps distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store.
What stays on your device
The following is stored only in your browser or app storage and is never uploaded to us:
- Lesson completion and track progress
- Every practice question you answer, whether you got it right, and your confidence rating
- Review intervals, streaks, XP, and milestone history
- Your profile settings: aircraft you fly, role, dates you are training toward, reminder hour, season setting
- Calculator inputs, logbook entries, and label lookups
Clearing site data or uninstalling the app erases this. An export button in the Living Syllabus lets you download a copy.
What leaves your device, and why
- Push reminders (optional). If you turn on reminders, your device gives us an anonymous push address, your time zone, your chosen hour, and two numbers: how many items are due and your current streak. That is all the reminder text needs. Turning reminders off deletes this. Reminders stop automatically after seven go unanswered.
- Peer benchmark (optional, off by default). If you switch it on, the app sends four numbers under a random ID — proficiency tier, durable-item count, accuracy, and streak — so you can compare against other pilots. No questions, answers, name, or email are included.
- Spoken questions. When a practice question is read aloud, the question text is sent to our server and on to a text-to-speech provider (ElevenLabs) to generate the audio. Only the question text is sent; nothing identifies you.
- Photo reading (optional). If you use the tool that reads a product label or a Hobbs meter from a photo, that photo is sent to our server and on to an AI vision provider (OpenAI) to extract the text. Photos are not stored by AgPilotEDU.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and what you bought so we can grant access; we never see card numbers.
- Sign-in email. If you sign in, a one-time link is sent to your email address through our email provider (Resend).
- Ordinary web traffic. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse, as any web host does.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No sale or rental of personal data
- No analytics that follow you across other apps or sites
- No access to contacts, location, camera, or microphone, except when you choose a photo for the photo-reading tool
Children
AgPilotEDU is professional training for licensed or student pilots and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
- Reminders and the peer benchmark are opt-in and can be turned off in the Living Syllabus at any time.
- You can export or erase all study data from the Living Syllabus.
- To delete an account or purchase record, contact us at the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above will change and the app will say so.
